KAS Independence
Heads one day later and 2 to 3 inches shorter than
Clark. One of the latest jointing wheats in this area
Level of winter
hardiness is similar to Clark, and has excellent soft wheat milling and baking qualities.
Independence has gene H13 that conditions resistance to Hessian fly Biotype L,
which is prevalent in many areas in the midsouth from Arkansas to Virginia.
Independence has resistance to glume blotch, leaf rust, stem rust, soil borne mosaic,
wheat spindle streak mosaic, and tolerance to take-all, but is moderately susceptible to
powdery mildew
KAS
Allegiance
High
yielding, disease resistant, soft red wheat
State and national tests have proven that ALLEGIANCE is at the
top on yield and consistency. This medium-early wheat has a great disease package with
good resistance to Fusarium Head Blight - Powdery Mildew - Septoria Leaf Bloch and Leaf
Rust. ALLEGIANCE is a stand out in winter hardiness and milling quality. With a
average height of 40 inches and great straw strength ALLEGIANCE adds an extra benefit of
about 12% more potential straw production than most of the varieties now available . With
great yield, disease resistance, winter hardiness, straw strength; and extra straw
potential, makes ALLEGIANCE a must for any wheat production program.
CERTIFIED CLARK
This is a soft
red winter wheat variety developed and released by Purdue University. It has upright
seedling growth habit, is awnletted and its glumes are brown at maturity. Clark
regularly develops four kernels per spikelet compared to three for most varieties.
It has the H6 gene for Hessian fly resistance; tolerance to take all; moderate resistance
to powdery mildew and septoria leaf blotch; high level resistance to soil borne mosaic
virus and wheat spindle streak Mosaic virus and has moderate resistance to leaf rust.
